Chris had to say, she wasn't happy with what circumstances she found herself in. Of course she'd said yes to the question that appeared before her—how could she not?! But she hadn't expected to be taken to another world, least of all one with monsters that had a vague at best plan to accomplish their goals.

Still, she couldn't ignore the threat to her home, or the creatures in need in this world. She had to do something.

Right now though? All she could do was sit on a bench in the park, leaning her head on her hands and generally looking sad. Her partner hadn't shown up yet, and she had no idea where to go to end up looking for one. So all she could do is wait..

"The home I fought for..." she said, sadly. "Is it really so far away?"

The Great And Powerful So-And-So

By now, Chris had met her partner, and... well, they were partners. She couldn't say whether they would get along or not, but this Missimon seemed pretty cynical and hard to convince. Nevertheless, Chris knew they had to get to work accomplishing something, so she'd pursued one of those jobs that were on offer.

The one she selected meant walking the streets at night. Apparently something called a "Devimon" was attacking and scaring people. She checked the handbook on her phone, err, "digivice", and gotten some eyewitness testimony, and something immediately felt fishy. Her time in S.O.N.G. had taught her a thing or too, so she was able to get a sense of where the attacks usually occurred, so she started looking there... and it paid off!

"Hold it right there!" Chris announced to a shadowy figure in an alleyway. "Come on out, you pretender!"

Said shadowy figure loomed over her, rickety wings spread against the knight sky and red eyes gleaming like flashlights. It cried out, its voice legion, and demanded: "Who dares disturb Devimon the great and powerful?!"

Missimon shook her head from behind Chris. "This is going to end in disaster," she sighed.

Chris was about to react to the "Devimon's" declaration, when she heard a familiar voice. She spun around on her heel, and her eyes widened.

"M-Miku?!" she cried. "What are—no, stay back! We have to-"

Before she could say anything else, however, the "creature" she confronted slammed into her, knocking her out into the street.

The "Devimon" screeched, and raised his "claws"...which now, in better lighting, appeared to be three wooden planks connected together with nails at the end for fingers.

"Fool! Ignore the great and powerful Devimon at your own peril!"

"Chris-chan!"

Miku didn't really pay much attention to what Chris said about her pulling back, quickly running over to the other girl instead.

"You idiot! Why are you running towar-" Solarmon's protests are cut off when he realizes that the Devimon's claws were... not claws. But wood. His eyes narrow, and then he moved to closer to the "Devimon". "Sol Calor!"

So yeah, despite being terrified before, Solarmon was now shooting out fire right at the "Devimon".

Chris grit her teeth. "I said stay back, don't—eh?!"

She stared as the fire hit their adversary...and the "Devimon's" body suddenly burst into flames. Because it was cardboard.

"AHHHHHHHHHH!" the voices screamed, before one cleared its throat, saying: "U-Uhm! Pay no attention to our being on fire! This is nothing!"

Miku stared at the digimon on fire as well, not quite sure what she should say to Solarmon, but then she heard what they said and turn her attention to them again. "Uh... I'm pretty sure that even for Digimon that being on fire is bad. You should probably throw all that off."

"How dare you idiots make me think you were actually a threat!" Solarmon shouted, getting ready to send another burst of fire over at whatever the 'Devimon' actually was.

"Solarmon! Stop!"

Solarmon stopped with the fire, letting out a groan at Miku's order. Miku was just glad that Solarmon was actually listening to her right now.

The fire spread, and the Digimon inside immediately followed Miku's advice, tossing off their cardboard and wood construct and revealing themselves, in actuality, to be three PicoDevimon.

"How rude!" the center one of them cried. "Forcing us to reveal ourselves!"

Chris shook her head. "You guys were the ones attacking people!" she exclaimed, before stepping forward. "But whatever, your plan's ruined! Come along quietly, or we'll kick your ass!"

"Oh please!" The same PicoDevimon shouted. "You're just two Tamers, one Child level, and an itty bitty Baby! There's three of us, and we actually have attacks that do damage!"

Then, as if to prove it, they spread their wings and each summoned a large syringe, which they then fired off and shot at Miku, Solarmon, and Missimon.

"PICO DART!"

Thankfully, Miku was keeping her eyes on the PicoDevimon in question, so when those syringes go flying at her she's ready and quickly dodges out of the way.

Solarmon also manages to dodge the dart heading his way, glaring at the PicoDevimon that had aimed at him. "Are you going to yell at me for attacking again?"

"Nope. Go ahead!" Because obviously these guys weren't going to stop until someone they were in a position that they were going to lose.

"Great! Now stay still so I can set out on fire!" And with that shout Solarmon went and charged towards the closest PicoDevimon. "Little Burn!"

Miku turned her attention to Chris. "Is your partner okay?" She didn't see if the baby digimon had gotten hit by the attack or not, but she did see the dart going towards it earlier so... yeah, time to worry. And Solarmon might not be enough to handle this on his own...

Missimon was more than alright. Chris had caught the syringe in mid-air, narrowly before it could hit Missimon, who hovered there with a massive sweatdrop.

"You bastards, picking on a literal baby," she seethed. "LET'S SEE HOW YOU LIKE IT!"

And with that, she heaved the syringe back at the third PicoDevimon, whose eyes widened in fear. Fluttering his wings, he narrowly dodged it.

"Th-Thanks..." Missimon managed.

Meanwhile, the PicoDevimon let out a cry as the fiery tackle struck him, burning him and knocking him into some garbage. The first reacted quickly, spreading his wings and shouting "BAT FLUTTER!"

Three small bats materialized and flew at Solarmon, trying to tackle him to the ground.

Solarmon tried to dodge the bats, but he had a little bit of a problem with that. Namely that he was right in front of the digimon, and didn't have time to actually dodge it. So into the ground he went, and he slammed down hard with a bit of a startled shout.

At least he was made of metal so it didn't hurt that badly, but even so getting hit by something like that still sucked.

With all of this happening, it was pretty obvious that yeah, they were going to have to do something to stop this. And so...

"Rei Shénshòujìng rei zizzl..."

Light flashed around her body as she sang those words, and-

-then Miku was standing there, clad in her white and lilac Faust Robe for the first time since that whole mess with Shem-ha happened.

Solarmon had just managed to turn his attention towards Miku's direction when the light faded, and stared at what he was seeing for a moment. "What the... since when could humans evolve!?"

Miku didn't say anything to correct him; there would be time to do that later and they had more important stuff to worry about right now. So she focused, moving her arms so that the two 'whip' appendages attacked her her sleeves could move and focused, purple light shooting out of them towards the PicoDevimon that had blasted Solarmon earlier.

Chris...had not been expecting that. Her eyes widened, and fear shot through her mind—the last time she'd seen Miku transform, had frankly, given her good reason to. So much, she was completely unsure of how best to act in that situation.

The PicoDevimon was surprised too, so much Miku's blast knocked them out of the air. They hit the ground head-first, and was knocked out cold.

That left two, who flew there, unable to figure out how to proceed.

"H-How can humans do that?!" the one Chris heaved the syringe at cried.

"I-I don't care!" cried the other. "L-Let's just get out of here!"

And then they turned, attempting to fly away as fast as they could.

...Wow. Okay. That was a little anti-climatic. The PicoDevimon running away was definitely welcome, but that was definitely a little anti-climatic.

Then again, she did knock one of them out, so maybe she shouldn't have been so surprised that the other two were running.

"Have you been able to do that the entire time!?" Solarmon shouted once the PicoDevimon were gone, looking over at his partner. Where was that when we were dealing with those Numemon?"

Miku sighed. "You had that whole thing handled. If anything I would've had to transform like this to stop you, not them." And now that she said that, she turned her attention over to Chris, and then blinked at the look on her face. "Uh... Chris-chan? You okay?"

Chris grit her teeth, and clenched a hand into a fist. Missimon saw this, and shied even further back. Was her partner angry, or else?

"How..." Chris began. She then looked up, anger and concern on her face. "How exactly are you able to transform like that?! Who did this to you, Miku?!"

Miku just... blinked at Chris's comment. And the way that she was acting. It made absolutely no sense. "Chris-chan? Why are you acting like you don-"

She doesn't even finish that sentence, because something jumped into her mind again. How she and Hibiki had gotten the message from the Digital World at the same time, and yet Hibiki took over a month after her to get here. There was a flash of light, and then Miku was back to normal, her large, gray very much NOT a Symphogear pendant around her neck in full view.

"...Right, the Digital World's weird with time stuff. What's the last major thing that happened back home for you?"

"The last major thing?" Chris asked. "What...what do you mean? It was the fight with Adam and the Illuminati!"

She eyed the pendant around her neck...it was definitely different. But the things it made Chris think of certainly didn't convince Chris that the alternative was any better.

"That's not the last major thing I remember. It's pretty close, but there was something else after that. Pretty soon after that." Which, well, wasn't something she thought she was going to have to explain and honestly didn't really want to.

"Your... that reaction isn't... I..." She shakes her head again. "You weren't wrong. About why I have this now."

Solarmon looked over at Miku for a moment, not entirely sure what was going on but he realized that Miku was upset. "Maybe you two should talk about this somewhere else?"

Chris was about to reply, when Solarmon said what he did. She gave a little growl of frustration, before nodding.

"Come on," she said. "We can finish this discussion at my place."

Miku blinked, looking over at Solarmon for a moment. Was he... actually showing some concern for her? He definitely never cared about creating a scene or anything before so it couldn't be that.

Still, he did have a point, so she nods. "Okay. Let's go. It's... well, depending on how much you want me to tell you it might take a while."

Chris nodded, and led them along. Eventually they reached Chris and Missimon's home, which was sparsely decorated...given that Chris had just arrived in the Digital World.

"Sorry I can't offer you anything to drink," she said, while indicating the places to sit. "Now...what can you tell me without causing a time paradox or whatever?"

"It's okay," Miku said, before thinking over the answer to Chris' question. She wasn't surprised by Chris' place being sparsely decorated, honestly hers was in a similar state right now.

As for Chris' question... "Honestly, probably nothing." She knows that's not really an answer Chris was going to like, and while she doesn't want to really talk about it she doesn't want to hold things back either. "Basically I got kidnapped again. And possessed."

Solarmon's eyes widened a little at Miku's words, having not expected to hear something like that. Though for the moment he wasn't saying anything.

Kidnapped. Possessed. Hearing that made Chris's body tense up, and her blood boil, to the point she grabbed the edges of her skirt tightly and grit her teeth.

But the person she was most angry with, actually, was her future self.

"So..." she said, voice heavy, "We couldn't protect you."

"It wasn't your fault," Miku said as soon as Chris had finished speaking. "They... well, the group of alchemists that you were fighting with at the time had help. Help from people above the commander in the government. Even if you had known they wanted to kidnap me, they probably would've been able to get around all of you."

Chris tensed up. More alchemists? Help from the government?! None of those were things she liked at all.

"Help from the government?!" she said, focusing on that in particular. "What kind of help?"

The only possibility in her mind felt too ominous, too dangerous to really be reality. But even still, she wouldn't take that kind of betrayal lightly.

Yeah, Miku's not surprised to hear Chris being upset about that. Honestly, she was still pretty upset about the whole everything with that herself. But she's also not really all that inclined to hide that from Chris either.

"They were working with Tsubasa's grandfather. He thought that he'd be able to control the 'god' that they were having possess me."

Chris's eyes widened even more, and her nostrils flared. Her fists shook, and she had to force herself from standing up.

"That bastard?! It's not enough he pulled all the crap he did, but he did that to you?! What about senpai?! What did she have to say about all this?!"

...Ah. Right. Now she needed to talk about what happened to Tsubasa-san.

"Well, she was upset about it after everything was over. But one of the alchemists had the ability to... I guess hypnotize people. He had Tsubasa-san put under that at some point, so for at least some of it she was helping him. I don't think that happened yet by the time I got kidnapped though."

Solarmon just stared at Miku after hearing that, at least for a moment. "You're life's been pretty nuts, hasn't it?"

Miku turned to Solarmon and nodded. "Yeah. It's been a real hectic couple of years..."
