INTRO EVENT: Dawn Of A New Age

A new day dawns in the Digital World. Technically, it's been a scant few since Tamers first appeared in the Digital World, but today... today is especially momentous. The reason for that is that today is the day that Tamer Union's mission fully begins in earnest. However, the path ahead will not be easy, and will be fraught with danger for human and Digimon alike.

But maybe, just maybe, these disparate people can work together to save their worlds.

Mission Start
The message is sent through on Tamers' digivices early in the morning. It comes from the leaders of Tamer Union, Sunflowmon and Nanomon, who give the directions to gather in the main assembly area of the HQ. When Tamers arrive, they'll find a group of allied Digimon there; essentially, TU's support staff, as well as Panjyamon, Mummymon, and Bitmon. The reason they give... is that it's time for Tamer Union's mission to begin in earnest.

Once everyone is assembled, it's Sunflowmon who speaks first. "Thank you for gathering here today, everyone," she said. "I apologize for the fact that it's taken this long to bring you all together, but we're ready to discuss Tamer Union's mission. Nanomon?"

Nanomon nods, and walks out in front of her. "Hello," he began. "You are all here because you chose to answer our call. All of your worlds are being plagued by some sort of phenomena, and we know that something in this world is the cause of it. We'd like to talk to you about what where we'd like to start focusing our attention."

He took a deep breath, and began explaining the matter of the strange phenomenon known as "Alias". A horrifying, frightful condition that drives Digimon to savagery, where they loose all sense of themselves and become ravenous monsters. He explains that the phenomenon first appeared on the mainland, and that Sunflowmon's master, Rosemon, sent her to restore Tamer Union in an attempt to solve what was truly behind Alias's sudden appearance.

Once Nanomon was finished, Sunflowmon stepped forward, and began to speak solemnly.

"Unfortunately, by the time we managed to bring you all here, Access Island lost contact with the mainland," she explained. "So our ability to pursue this mission is at present quite limited. What we can do right now is do our best to try and make sure that Alias doesn't spread and take over this island... which is why we need you Tamers to be vigilant and patrol the areas of the island that are open to us to determine if Alias has reached Access Island yet or not."

She frowned, and continued. "Furthermore... Tamers are not yet allowed into all areas of the island. The Digimon of each region aren't all sure they can trust you yet. For that reason, you may only be able to use the Trailmon to visit Panorama Plains, Material Jungle, and Pixel Coast.

"I'm sorry. I know after all this, you must all want to get down to business as quickly as we can. But right now, informing you and asking you to stay vigilant is all we can do. I would advise you all to also try and see what you can do to be helpful in the city... and if you want to try building a life here, you'll have our full support."

There looked to be so much more Sunflowmon wished to say. Unfortunately, she had run out of words, so she simply concluded with: "That's all we have for you. If you have any other questions, I'll do my best to answer them."

With that, the meeting was over. That left Tamers with a couple options: one, to approach Sunflowmon, or discuss the matter among themselves.

A Wonderful Day In Our Neighborhood
The inaugural meeting may have been somber, but the Tamers would find Access City bustling and ready to welcome them when they ventured out into the city proper. It turned out that there was something of an event going on, which seemed to be perfect for those still trying to acclimate themselves to their new surroundings: A massive sale in the business district.

All the shops were coordinating with one another. Stores had their wares at reduced prices, which would be a good way for one to spend the stipend they received from Tamer Union. Everything from food to furniture to entertainment was available, and best of all affordable. Others had free samples ready to give out, which were thankfully more palatable than the food served by Ebidramon at the welcome party.

That wasn't all. For those not concerned with buying up anything, there were shows being put on out in the streets by street performers: "human" pyramids, musicians, magicians, jugglers, just about anything you could imagine. And the Digimon putting it on? They would be quick to drag any observers into their performances, whether they technically agreed to it or not.

Even if the rest of the island wasn't ready to trust offworlders yet, it seemed Access City was more than willing to.

Rail Riders
Some time after the big meeting, Tamers would get yet another message on their Digivices, this time from Panjyamon:

Have you all taken a ride on the Trailmon yet? It's an ice way to get around!
Puns aside, he was right. The Trailmon of Console Station were more than willing to carry passengers to any of the available locations. Perhaps you want to get started on patrolling the island for signs of ALIAS. Or maybe you want to get the lay of the land. Or maybe you just want to go to the beach. In any case, your tickets are free, and the Digivice's version of the Handbook has more than enough information for you to read up on the areas before you go.

That being said, there's some goings on that might catch one's eye. A bunch of shifty looking Digimon are riding the Trailmon more than usual. Not only do they make a ruckus on the train, they're going in and out of cargo cars both prior to and upon exiting the train. Do they have permission to do that? And why are they off in such a hurry, and in such large groups?

In any case, this looks like an ample time to find out.

This prompt can be used one of two ways: players visiting the various areas to search for signs of Alias or just because they fancy doing so, or to pursue the Goblimon mystery. If you'd like to pursue the former, you can either NPC them yourself (the Goblimon would turn out to just be everyday troublemakers), or you can request an NPC below and possibly get involved with larger matters!

Yuzu Hiiragi & Lalamon | Yu-Gi-Oh! Arc-V

[1] Mission Start

[ Alias... yikes, that sure sounds scary. So no contact with the mainland of this place, and a mysterious... digital illness going around? Still, thinking of these Digimon turning into ravenous beasts... that's a sad sight to think about. ]

Yuzu...?

Ah, don't worry, Lalamon! [ She holds her partner to her chest. ] We'll get through this together! We're here to save the world, aren't we?

Mm!

[ Still, on that note... ]

We just need to figure out how to get stronger...

[ Easier said than done. She's heard about Evolution, but it looks like a bit of a slow process reaching that point. ]

[2] Street Performance

[ Yuzu didn't need any Digimon to drag her into a performance... she was already a performer. She managed to get ahold of a number of juggling pins, which is all she was able to get unfortunately, but it was all she needed to entertain a crowd.

Which, lo and behold, she's doing pretty well. She's juggling with some incredible coordination, pulling off fancy tricks, balancing the pins on her head, transitioning a different way of juggling them, throwing them up so that they come back down behind her where she can't see them but catching and throwing them back up anyway. She's clearly got a lot of practice with stuff like this.

And that's not all. While Yuzu keeps her own performance entertaining with different tricks and juggling styles, Lalamon is hovering nearby, holding Yuzu's activated Duel Disk, which has three Monster Cards placed on the pink blade. Said-cards being Aria the Melodious Diva, Canon the Melodious Diva, and Opera the Melodious Diva.

Mind you, they're Monster Cards, and unfortunately her Duel Disk can't generate them using Real Solid Vision in this place. As such, they're just regular holograms, and a few digimon will try to touch them... only to phase right through. Still, even if they're just holograms, she can still summon them and have them help her in their own way!

The three hovering fairies sing as Yuzu performs. That's why she has them out, they're Melodious monsters! Of course they can sing! Though words are actually spoken by them, rather it's almost like an opera... their voices harmonize with their different pitches, creating something that was beautiful... and very effective at drawing other Digimon to her performance. Particularly the younger ones, allowing her to amass a crowd of Baby and Child Digimon... plus a few bigger ones, but mostly the kiddies. ]

Whoaaaa! What are those! I've never seen Digimon like that before!

Ehh? That's weird, I can't touch them!

That's because they're... um... oh, right! They're holograms!

[ Lalamon happily explains while Yuzu continues her performance, a big smile on her face as she slides right into her element. ]

That's right! You can't touch them, but they still look pretty real, right! They're called Duel Monsters!

[ Yep, she can talk even while doing this... though she suddenly dips, almost dropping one pin and causing the crowd to gasp...

...only for her to immediately recover and transition into a different style of throwing. She faked them out!

Maybe you got interested yourself or your partner decided to come be part of the crowd... in any case, it looks like Yuzu is having the time of her life. ]

[3] Rail Riders

3A.
[ Well, in any world, there's bound to be people who are hellbent on being a massive nuisance. In this case, it's Goblimon... and she's been trying to ignore them since they were just being loud, but... ]

Y-Yuzu! Look!

[ It's too much now. They were being rowdy earlier, now they're just straight-up brawling in the middle of the cabin behind her... which isn't ideal when they aren't the only Digimon in that cabin. ]

Oh, that's it! I'm putting them in their place!! Come on, Lalamon!

[ Her temper had been rising slowly and slowly as she listened to them... but that just set her off. Help her or watch, either way she's stomping over to the cabin the Goblimon are in. ]

B. (For Goblimon NPC)
[ She managed to deal with the Goblimon from earlier, but that unfortunately seems to have not stopped all the Goblimon as a whole. Still, it's weird... before they were being rowdy, but now they were just being suspicious. Why were they hurrying in and out of... cargo cars? With the way they've been acting they definitely don't work here... ]

...Lalamon, be very quiet, okay?

Eh? Oh! Okay...

[ Lalamon took a moment to understand what was happening, but once she does, she lands in Yuzu's arms so that Yuzu can keep ahold of her... she makes a little noise when she hovers, after all. She'll try to sneak into the cargo car as a large group of Goblimon leave, and find a place to hide for now... maybe she can listen in on something important. ]

Seto-kun, I want to see!

You're so demanding.

[ There's the high-pitched sound of a baby dragon Digimon talking. She's nestled safely in Kaiba's arms, though she's squirming to get a closer look. He sighs and brings her closer to the holo-idols, his eyes flickering to the flower Digimon and the device held. It's vaguely shaped like a Duel Disk, but it's sleeker than the bulky unit on his arm.

Then he hears the other Digimon say 'Duel Monster'. These creatures, Duel Monsters? Now he has to stick around, watching with a sharp eye as Petitmon oohs and aaahs. She eventualy bounces up, shouting out a cheer. ]

You're so cool!

[ The little dragon lacks hands to clap with, so the whooping and cheering is the best she can do. Meanwhile...her partner politely applauds behind her. ]

[ Much sleeker, with a full screen and a glowing blade that is very clearly not attached to the device itself, but still there... and solid as well. Still, she's fully focused on her current performance, so she doesn't notice the recognizable device on Seto's arm. Though she does notice Seto appearance in her crowd.

She'll continue the show for a while longer, but purely juggling has it's limits in entertainment... and due to having very little in the way of funds, it's all she has. She has to run out of tricks eventually, and in the first place, she's been doing this nonstop for quite a while now. As they say, the show has to come to an end eventually. ]

And now for the grand finale! Lalamon!

Right!

[ The small flower digimon briefly places the Duel Disk down... in order to pull out from a box two more pins. ]

Hup, Hup...!

[ She throws both into the numerous pins already being tossed into the air, Yuzu seamlessly adding them into the juggle. There's a loud gasp from the crowd as the number increases, and not only that, but the speed at which Yuzu is juggling them now.

Five pins is tricky, even for Yuzu... she doesn't count on herself doing it for very long before getting tired, but fortunately she doesn't need to. ]

Lalamon, now!

[ Her partner has already picked the Duel Disk back up, her small nubby hand raised over the screen. ]

Right! Hah!

[ The song sung by the Melodious monsters starts to reach a peak, and as Lalamon brings her hand down onto the screen to press something, Yuzu suddenly tosses all of the pins up to an incredibly high height...

Lalamon presses something on the screen, and a large Duel Monsters card suddenly appears face down next to Yuzu before immediately standing up straight, revealing the trap card Melodious Illusion.

The song reaches it's peak, the pins start to fall, and Yuzu raises her arms out to the side...

The surrounding area suddenly bursts with color, sparkles and floating colorful music notes suddenly surrounding Yuzu and her crowd. The monsters finish their song, and the pins? Yuzu has to move a bit to be able to properly do this, but all five land on and balance on the girl... two on each arm, and one on her forehead... Yuzu looking straight up to keep it balanced... wobbling juuuust a bit.

But after a moment of bated breath, she gets the applause she worked for. ]

[ Wow, what a finale! Petitmon's eyes sparkle with adoration as she watches. Kaiba...well, he can appreciate showmanship from a duelist.

The tiny Digimon whoops and cheers with the crowd, and Kaiba claps politely. Well done, well done...he'd like to ask about her dueling later, but Petitmon is already wiggling out of his grasp and flying up to the pair. ]

You're so pretty and cool! Do it again!

[ Aaah---no, oh no. Kaiba hurries up behind her and gently snatches his Digimon back. ]

Don't you think they're tired enough? Mm...don't worry about it, my partner's just very curious.

You have funny cards just like Seto-kun's, but he never does anything that cool.

[ Kaiba just...frowns down at Petitmon. How blunt. ]

Mm. I wasn't expecting to meet another duelist.

Ahaha...

[ She lets out a sigh, leaning forward a little to let the pins fall forward... and as they fall off of her, she suddenly scoops them all up in one swift motion. She definitely worked up a small sweat doing that for so long... and though she made it look effortless, it's some hard work. ]

Another time! A show can't go on forever... but I'll be delighted to see you all again next time!

[ Further applause, and her crowd starts to disperse. Still, she shoots Seto a smile as it if to say "don't worry about it" before dropping the pins into a box and taking her Duel Disk back from Lalamon, placing it on her arm, causing a strap to extend out of the bottom and fasten the device to her arm. Her monsters, meanwhile, wave and clap, seemingly celebrating the success of the show.

As she powers down her disk, the cards returning to her deck case and the blade disappearing, the Deck and Extra Deck slots sliding into the middle part of the device... she hears Petitmon. ]

Eh? Cards?

[ She takes a proper look at Seto now, finally noticing the device on his arm. Her eyes widen. ]

Ah, a Duel Disk! You're a duelist too!?

[ She suddenly comes forward, surprised to find another duelist... and in addition to that... ]

Whoa, and it's an old model, too! You hardly see those anymore...

Mm. One of the best.

[ He stands tall, proud...but what she says about an old model seizes his attention. He frowns and deflates a little, but keeps composure. ]

I invented this model and all Duel Disks before it. But you're from my future, then?

[ That makes him uneasy, but maybe he can learn something. Petitmon senses this and gently nuzzles him. ]

One of the best? Bold claim for someone I've never—Hn...!

[ She's about to finish that... admittedly a little rude sentence, but one doesn't just claim to be the best and not go unchallenged. However, she was cut off by a sudden headache, causing her to clutch her head... ]

Y-Yuzu!?

I-I'm fine...

[ She felt it, small bits of memories that aren't hers flowing into her mind... It's nothing concrete, and feels like a mixture of memories of the Fusion Dimension and the United Dimension. A few pictures, a logo she's never seen before, the legendary Blue-Eyes...

Ultimately, the headache fades, and she shakes her head. She... she can't quite make sense of what she just saw. She's definitely never seen this person before, not even in history books... at least, in her home dimension that is.

Still, now isn't the best time to try and sort together the fragments of memories she just received. ]

S-Sorry, just a little tired... you said you invented the Duel Disk? [ Quickly, change the subject. ] Does that mean you're with LDS?

[ You know, the company that oversees the Dueling System, run by the young teen Reiji Akaba, released Real Solid Vision to the world... and even made the Duel Disk she's wearing right now. ]

Mission Start

[Hikari and Tailmon weren't happy to hear about this whole 'Alias' thing considering how familiar the whole thing was, but they were both trying not to show it as they looked around at the other Chose... no, other Tamers here. (That word was going to take so long to get used to).

She and Tailmon were some of the few partner pairs here that actually had experience with the Digital World before, so letting people see that they were worried probably wouldn't be a good idea. So no showing that!

Either way, she and Tailmon look around at some of the other pairs of partners, and her their eyes quickly fall upon Yuzu and Lalamon again and they quickly make their way over to them.]

Hi Hiiragi-san, Lalamon. Are you two doing alright? After hearing all of that, I mean.

Ah, Yagami-san!

Hello!

[ A familiar face helps... or well, as familiar as faces can get here, since it's clear nobody else from home was brought here either. Still, Hikari seems reliable, especially considering her apparent experience. ]

A-Ah, yeah I'm fine! Nothing I can't handle. Lalamon?

It sounds pretty scary, but we're all in this together, right? So I think everything will turn out fine! Especially since Big-Sis Yuzu is with me!

[ Yuzu nods... it's certainly not her first time being hit with bad news like this. Well, it's certainly an entirely new kind of enemy for her, but hey! Once you find out that there's an interdimensional war going on with you and three other girls as key targets, you can handle anything. ]

Mm, I guess I am just a little nervous about properly fighting, though... dueling is one thing, but...

[ If the Numemon disaster signified anything, it was gonna be way different... though that was obvious already, wasn't it? The Numemon were easy, but she's seen some big digimon during her stay here already. What happens if they get attacked by something like that? ]

[Hikari nods and smiles that Yuzu and Lalamon's answer, and Tailmon smiles a bit herself too. ]

Don't worry, you'll both do fine. You have Hikari, me, and the others to help!

[Well, Tailmon isn't wrong about that. ]

You'll... well, you'll definitely get more used to it the longer we're here. And there's a few pairs of partners like me and Tailmon who already have experience with stuff like this, so you can always ask us for help.

Ah, thank you, Tailmon...

[ She nods in response to Hikari. It definitely is a little reassuring to have some experienced tamers here, even if everybody ended up being set to the same level as everyone else. ]

Mm, right! I'll be counting on you guys then, but just you wait, I'll figure all of this out, I'm sure of it!

Yeah, I'm sure you will!

[Though of course someone could argue that that wouldn't necessarily be a good thing, but Hikari wasn't going to think much about that right now. Besides, Yuzu was more equipped to deal with all of this stuff compared to how she was when she first got involved.]

Anyway, what are you planning on doing in the next couple of days? Tailmon and I are probably going to look around in some of the places that the Trailmon can take us.

[ Hey, considering the things she's already gone through, what's learning how to fight alongside a Digimon, right? ]

Mm... I'm thinking I might explore the city a little more, but I'm also thinking checking out places Trailmon can take us would be a good idea too...

[ Besides, she'd be lying if she said she didn't want to see more of the Digital World. ]

Street Performance

[Tohru had been for the most part going about getting what was needed and making sure it would last when her Digimon on companion left her side in order to go and see what show was going on.]

Tohru! Tohru! What is this? [She asked excitedly as Tohru had soon caught up watching the show itself.]

It looks like she is juggling and those...Are they digimon?

I've never seen Digimon like that before. They are pretty.

[Mokumon clapped with what little hands as Tohru smiled.]

Your performance was beautiful.

i dont wanna write the entire finale to Yuzu's performance again so please excuse my laziness

[ She smiles, seeing another human in her crowd. While she wishes she could do some more for her new additions, she's reaching her limit. She's been doing this for quite a while, after all. So after continuing the show a little longer, she goes into the finale of her performance, ending it off with a big smile and heavy breaths.

As she lets the pins fall off her arms so that she can scoop them all up in a single movement, she hears Tohru's praise. ]

Oh! Thank you, that means a lot!

[ Though the songstresses were just singing earlier, they appear to be completely silent now... even as they bend down and clap at Yuzu, seemingly congratulating her. As that happens, Lalamon descends holding the Duel Disk, moving through the holographic songstresses. ]

Yuzu, here!

Ah, thank you, Lalamon!

[ She takes the device and places it on her arm, which automatically straps to her arm in response. Then, with a single tap on the screen, the Duel Disk deactivates, the cards returning to the deck, the Deck and Extra Deck compartments slotting back into the middle of the device, and the glowing pink blade disappearing.

With her Duel Disk's deactivation, the three fairies disappear as well, immediately vanishing from the area. ]

It's fine.

[She just went through them. Tohru was just stunned and silent for a moment because the digimon just went through them. But how?! She had no idea. More so when they vanished too. Really this type of technology was not around in her time anyway.]

H-How did you do that?

[That was it. That was all she could say while she continued to look puzzled and amazed at the same time.]

[ This type of technology isn't around in most people's time in any case. Both the holograms AND the holograms with mass... especially the holograms with mass. ]

Oh, that? Ahh, they're just Duel Monsters... my Duel Disk was what made them appear.

[ She holds up the device strapped to her arm, as well as one of the cards that she had used... an image of one of the fairies depicted on it. ]

They're just regular holograms, though... if the Real Solid Vision system was working properly, it would've been even more incredible!

But I guess the... real solid vision isn't working for a reason. But that's really amazing, even if it isn't working at 100%

[Would she understand how it worked. Probably not, but she is just easily impressed regardless.]

[ She blinks for a moment... before suddenly her cheeks flush and she sputters for a bit. Ahh, what was she thinking!? People here don't know about these things, so what is she doing talking about it so casually!? ]

A-Ah! Sorry, you probably have no idea what I'm talking about...

[ She waves her hands apologetically. ]

But yeah! They're just holograms... everyone has one of these back where I'm from.

The train has come to a stop at Panorama Plains station, and thus, the Goblimon are milling about outside the cargo cars.

"... stupid Tamers, making this job harder. No one really cared what we were doing before."

"Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if any of them were lurking about right now!"

"You're too paranoid. They have no way of knowing what we're doing."

"Speaking of which, shouldn't someone check on the cargo?"

A Goblimon muttered "Yeah, yeah," and went up to the car, opening it. Loud chittering suddenly came from inside, followed by the Goblimon shutting the door to the cargo car quickly.

"They're fine. Loud, but fine!"

Huh...?

[ She whispers it under her breath so that she's unheard, but what the heck was that...? Are there people—er, wait no—are there Digimon in there...? She can't imagine what might be in there with all that chittering... though being new here means she just may not have enough information.

And well... if just hearing isn't enough, she has to get a closer look... but how...? Maybe if she summoned a monster with her duel disk...? But they'd just be a regular hologram without a proper voice, and she'd have to order the monster to run... which may give her away, and there's only so much range her Duel Disk can provide...

A frontal assault would be a bad idea too... there's a lot of them, Lalamon can't evolve yet, and the strength of her cards aren't what they're supposed to be. As she racks her brain for options, however, Lalamon suddenly speaks up, though still whispering to stay hidden. ]

Yuzu...! I'll distract them!

W-What...? No!

I'll be fine...! They'll never catch me...!

Lalamon...!

[ Before Yuzu can stop her partner, Lalamon flies out of her arms and directly into the sight of the Goblimon. ]

Hey! All you nasty stupid bullies! I bet you're all the really dumb Goblimons that can't even get a little Digimon like me!

[ Lalamon then proceeds to perform a... well, as silly of a dance she can muster as she hovers in the air, taunting the Goblimon. Yuzu is... incredibly apprehensive of this, but since Lalamon is doing this to distract and get them away, she stays hidden. ]

The Goblimon inside emerged just in time to see Lalamon's show... which all of the Oni Digimon clearly gave exception to.

"Hey, that's not fair!" one exclaimed. "I was the smartest Digimon in my class at my nursery!"

"And we can definitely catch a stupid little Lalamon!" cried another.

Roused, the band of them all charged Lalamon... leaving the cargo container, and whatever lay inside, unattended.

Oh yeah!? Why don't you prove it then, huh!?

[ With the Goblimon successfully riled up, Lalamon starts to fly away at full speed, leading the Goblimon... well, anywhere but here. Once they're all a good distance away from Yuzu... ]

Nn... be careful, Lalamon...!

[ She'll rush over to the now-unattended cargo container, immediately moving to fully open the car. ]

The Goblimon all chased after Lalamon, easily fooled by the simple diversion. Meanwhile, the car was left open for Yuzu to pull open.

The chittering began again, as a number of green, eyeless faces suddenly looked upon her. It was a small horde of Dokunemon, all awakened, stuffed into numerous crates, which they were clawing and biting at in an attempt to free themselves.

Eh!? There really are Digimon in here!

[ She doesn't know anything about the Digimon inside, but it can't be pleasant for them, all stuffed together into a bunch of crates! She swings the rest of the car open and starts to immediately try and figure out how to open all of the crates while Lalamon keeps the Goblimon distracted... plus, do it as quickly as possible so that she can make sure Lalamon is safe. ]

Don't worry! I'll get you all out of here...!
