Dyes the earth red
The globe is an empty paradise
Let's save it with our hands...
A new day dawns in the Digital World. Technically, it's been a scant few since Tamers first appeared in the Digital World, but today... today is especially momentous. The reason for that is that today is the day that Tamer Union's mission fully begins in earnest. However, the path ahead will not be easy, and will be fraught with danger for human and Digimon alike.
But maybe, just maybe, these disparate people can work together to save their worlds.
The message is sent through on Tamers' digivices early in the morning. It comes from the leaders of Tamer Union, Sunflowmon and Nanomon, who give the directions to gather in the main assembly area of the HQ. When Tamers arrive, they'll find a group of allied Digimon there; essentially, TU's support staff, as well as Panjyamon, Mummymon, and Bitmon. The reason they give... is that it's time for Tamer Union's mission to begin in earnest.
Once everyone is assembled, it's Sunflowmon who speaks first. "Thank you for gathering here today, everyone," she said. "I apologize for the fact that it's taken this long to bring you all together, but we're ready to discuss Tamer Union's mission. Nanomon?"
Nanomon nods, and walks out in front of her. "Hello," he began. "You are all here because you chose to answer our call. All of your worlds are being plagued by some sort of phenomena, and we know that something in this world is the cause of it. We'd like to talk to you about what where we'd like to start focusing our attention."
He took a deep breath, and began explaining the matter of the strange phenomenon known as "Alias". A horrifying, frightful condition that drives Digimon to savagery, where they loose all sense of themselves and become ravenous monsters. He explains that the phenomenon first appeared on the mainland, and that Sunflowmon's master, Rosemon, sent her to restore Tamer Union in an attempt to solve what was truly behind Alias's sudden appearance.
Once Nanomon was finished, Sunflowmon stepped forward, and began to speak solemnly.
"Unfortunately, by the time we managed to bring you all here, Access Island lost contact with the mainland," she explained. "So our ability to pursue this mission is at present quite limited. What we can do right now is do our best to try and make sure that Alias doesn't spread and take over this island... which is why we need you Tamers to be vigilant and patrol the areas of the island that are open to us to determine if Alias has reached Access Island yet or not."
She frowned, and continued. "Furthermore... Tamers are not yet allowed into all areas of the island. The Digimon of each region aren't all sure they can trust you yet. For that reason, you may only be able to use the Trailmon to visit Panorama Plains, Material Jungle, and Pixel Coast.
"I'm sorry. I know after all this, you must all want to get down to business as quickly as we can. But right now, informing you and asking you to stay vigilant is all we can do. I would advise you all to also try and see what you can do to be helpful in the city... and if you want to try building a life here, you'll have our full support."
There looked to be so much more Sunflowmon wished to say. Unfortunately, she had run out of words, so she simply concluded with: "That's all we have for you. If you have any other questions, I'll do my best to answer them."
With that, the meeting was over. That left Tamers with a couple options: one, to approach Sunflowmon, or discuss the matter among themselves.
The inaugural meeting may have been somber, but the Tamers would find Access City bustling and ready to welcome them when they ventured out into the city proper. It turned out that there was something of an event going on, which seemed to be perfect for those still trying to acclimate themselves to their new surroundings: A massive sale in the business district.
All the shops were coordinating with one another. Stores had their wares at reduced prices, which would be a good way for one to spend the stipend they received from Tamer Union. Everything from food to furniture to entertainment was available, and best of all affordable. Others had free samples ready to give out, which were thankfully more palatable than the food served by Ebidramon at the welcome party.
That wasn't all. For those not concerned with buying up anything, there were shows being put on out in the streets by street performers: "human" pyramids, musicians, magicians, jugglers, just about anything you could imagine. And the Digimon putting it on? They would be quick to drag any observers into their performances, whether they technically agreed to it or not.
Even if the rest of the island wasn't ready to trust offworlders yet, it seemed Access City was more than willing to.
Some time after the big meeting, Tamers would get yet another message on their Digivices, this time from Panjyamon:
Puns aside, he was right. The Trailmon of Console Station were more than willing to carry passengers to any of the available locations. Perhaps you want to get started on patrolling the island for signs of ALIAS. Or maybe you want to get the lay of the land. Or maybe you just want to go to the beach. In any case, your tickets are free, and the Digivice's version of the Handbook has more than enough information for you to read up on the areas before you go.
That being said, there's some goings on that might catch one's eye. A bunch of shifty looking Digimon are riding the Trailmon more than usual. Not only do they make a ruckus on the train, they're going in and out of cargo cars both prior to and upon exiting the train. Do they have permission to do that? And why are they off in such a hurry, and in such large groups?
In any case, this looks like an ample time to find out.
This prompt can be used one of two ways: players visiting the various areas to search for signs of Alias or just because they fancy doing so, or to pursue the Goblimon mystery. If you'd like to pursue the former, you can either NPC them yourself (the Goblimon would turn out to just be everyday troublemakers), or you can request an NPC below and possibly get involved with larger matters!
Nara'a and Botamon
Date: 2022-04-02 03:40 am (UTC)There's at least one pair standing at attention - Nara'a has Botamon on his shoulder so the little Digimon can see. His ears are perked in interest, and his tail is swishing at the thought of an adventure.
Worlds in danger? That's something he's used to, at least. The idea of beings not returning to what they were before when slain...
Well, he's seen that, too.
He wanders around once the breifing is finished, trying to talk to just about everyone who's gathered.
"What do you think of all of this?" Whether he means 'the situation in general' or 'the briefing' isn't stated, and he prefers it that way. It gives people more of a chance to talk about what they want.
Market Square
Shopping! Not something that Nara'a loves doing, but he recognizes the use of it in any event. He wanders around with a basket, sharp eyes scanning for the best prices on things - food first, then entertainment second. It doesn't take him long to start trying on hats and other things though - and he turns to whoever that happens to pass by.
"What do you think?"
But just as significant to the shopping is the entertainment. He's used to listening to bards ply their trade, but a lot of this is new to him. The juggling, the acrobatics - he gets pulled into the act just as soon as one of the Digimon handling things spots someone who looks reasonably athletic.
"Woah -"
He's not used to performing for crowds, but he does eventually come on stage - and, with some prompting, starts to jump and flip around. He finishes with landing on one knee, a rapier drawn and a lot of flashy effects emitting from him before he stands, sheathes his weapon (and a strange glowing gem), and bows, rushing off stage to pick up Botamon with his tail curled around his leg.
Rail Riders
The moment he hears about Wayback Temple Nara'a jumps on a train to Material Jungle. But it's clear that he and Botamon aren't the only ones on the train. He tries to ignore them for a while - after all, this is the first time he's seen a train or something like it in active service.
When they don't stop though, he looks around for other Tamers. It's safer to confront an unknown foe in a group, after all.
Mission Start
Date: 2022-04-02 08:34 am (UTC)"That would depend on what you mean," comes his answer. Themis has learned how to project his voice so it's not overwhelming, but he can be heard by those nearby. He smiles down at Nara'a and Botamon. On the day of his arrival, the Ancient had discarded his peoples' social conventions and went about with the cowl of his robe pulled down. The white mask is at rest against his chest. At the moment his partner doesn't seem to be visible. But if one looks closely, there's a very suspicious lump bulging out the cowl in the back part.
But the silver-haired youth isn't going to immediately interrupt the digimon's nap.
"Might I ask what part of our circumstances you're talking about?" Themis isn't one to just hurl out random bits of opinions with such a vague question on the table.
no subject
Date: 2022-04-02 10:52 pm (UTC)"Well... a lot of it. We're all here to help, but the situation wasn't exactly explained to us beforehand..." Not like that's a new thing for him. "But more specifically, this Alias thing.. It seems similar to something I've heard of, but I was wondering if you had an opinion."
no subject
Date: 2022-04-03 02:32 am (UTC)Setting all that aside, it has nothing to do with the present and the question asked. Which is still vague in general but the miqo'te has offered a topic to focus on. 'Alias'. Themis adopts a thoughtful pose.
"There really isn't much to go on yet. Without observing it firsthand, I'm afraid I couldn't say whether I've encountered anything similar." Themis looks up from his thoughts and offers a sad, apologetic smile. "Though I'd regret seeing any of these charming Digimon completely lost, it does seem it's only a matter of time." It's clear he's not one to jump to quick judgement on such little and very third-hand knowledge.
"Before I leave the headquarters, I hope to speak with Sunflowmon and press for any details that might not have been written in the handbook. If she's seen Alias affect someone firsthand, her insight would be invaluable."
The back of his hood shifts and slowly, out clambers Elecmon who blinks sleepily and lazily raises her ears when she sees they have company. "Themis? We have visitors?" Wait a moment. She blinks and looks around. Elecmon's eyes widen a bit. "Oh, we're not at home! When did we get here?"
Someone's been deeply asleep.
no subject
Date: 2022-04-03 03:06 am (UTC)Still, they're all very disparate right now - and he holds no illusions about them all forming a bond quickly. But they still must, if only to prevent this from spreading further. "That's a good idea. I should probably do that..."
He perks up at the sight of a new Digimon, smiling a little bit wider. "Oh, hello. No, you're not at home. I'm Nara'a, and this is Botamon." The little Digimon on his shoulder bounces and grins at the other pair. "Hello!"
no subject
Date: 2022-04-04 12:09 am (UTC)Elecmon slides completely out of the cowl/blanket/nest and perches on the Amaurotine's shoulder while chastising him. The Tamer seems to be a little amused but also nods.
"I will in the future then. Please forgive me, you seemed to be enjoying your nap." When it's time to rest it's time to rest and to Themis it didn't seem so urgent to interrupt that. He can tell her the details of the meeting later.
"Okay, so I was but still, please do!" It's a little embarrassing to sleep through important meetings! Elecmon turns her attention to the others, looking down from her perch. "Oh hello, Botamon! And you're Botamon's Tamer? It's good to meet you both!"
There'll be a polite little wait while small talk is had. Though Themis will address Nara'a after a moment's time to turn back to their conversation.
"I agree it'll be a good to work together, since our goal is the same. There's also the matter of areas we can't travel to yet." Ones that run the risk of being a glaring hole in their ability to assess whether Alias has reached the island. For a minute, Themis furrows his brow and looks a bit troubled while he ponders it.
"If it's impossible for now, we'll need to work on what we can. What do you make out of this situation?"
no subject
Date: 2022-04-07 08:32 pm (UTC)"What I make of it... well, I feel like there's some danger in the areas we're not allowed to go to that they're not yet telling us about. If it was just that they couldn't trust us, we could set up meetings and work out some kind of conditions for us to be allowed into the regions. Unless they're working on that behind the scenes..."
Something to ask about later.
"Either way, it feels like there are things that they're not telling us." His ears flick back in annoyance. "Which is a little frustrating... if there's something they want to say but aren't saying, then they should just say it."

Date: 2022-04-03 02:54 am (UTC)And so, apparently, focused on pursuing the would-be mischief makers that Nara'a completely escaped his notice as he passed.
Gazimon looked, personally, as though he could not believe what he was seeing. "Taiki." His voice was a hiss, kept low as he tried to get his partner's attention.
The viera turned, hissing back. "What-"
Gazimon pointed at the miqo'te and his fuzzy black friend. The unspoken 'idiot' hung in the air, clear on his face but not so explicitly voiced.
"Ah."
no subject
Date: 2022-04-03 03:10 am (UTC)"... Do you think you can take the one on the left as I take the one on the right?" He's not sure if this viera is an adventurer, though he knows that most viera who leave their homes tend to be. And if they agreed to help save the world...
no subject
Date: 2022-04-05 03:58 am (UTC)Taiki nodded, unslinging a staff from across his back. The quiet thrum of the weapon was barely audible, under the noise of the train, but magic danced across his fingertips as he drew upon his meager reserve of aether. Waiting until the miq'ote moved, to best time his spell...
And a soft spiral of violet energy surrounded the goblimon on the left, leaving him stumbling- and then falling to the ground, snoring obnoxiously loudly.
no subject
Date: 2022-04-07 08:37 pm (UTC)The Goblimon flops over, snoring like his comrade. Nara'a grins and stands, walking over to the pair and sheathing his weapon. "Do you think we can just... leave them somewhere that they won't cause problems?" He's annoyed at them, but not enough to just leave them lying out in the open where someone might step on them.
no subject
Date: 2022-04-09 08:38 pm (UTC)Gazimon sneered. "Oh, yeah, hang on- oh, wouldja look at that. I left all my climbing gear in my other fur coat. What a shame. Seriously?"
"Point taken. Related, but- I'm sorry, but is that a red mage's implement?"
no subject
Date: 2022-04-09 09:01 pm (UTC)The question about his weapon gets a nod. "It is. I'm a little surprised you recognized it, with how few I've been told there are..." He knows he certainly didn't know what to think the first time Alisaie pulled it out. "But I've been studying the art for some time."

Date: 2022-04-03 06:40 pm (UTC)"I'm not honestly sure what to make of all this. This is completely different than what I use to."
Puwamon seemed to bounce slightly on his shoulder. "But we are going to do out best to help, right? Right?" The digimon seemed excited as Gilbert looked at his shoulder briefly before his focus went back.
"What about you?"
no subject
Date: 2022-04-03 06:56 pm (UTC)Surely most of the other tamers are adventurers, too?
Botamon bounces and chirps a little excitedly. "Let's all help them together!"
no subject
Date: 2022-04-06 09:29 am (UTC)Puwamon seemed to cheer happy to be helping out before finally jumping down ready to fight if needed, even though he was very tiny. Gilbert couldn't help but give a small smile at the little guy. He was certainly something.
"Let's go, lets go." The tiny little digimon said nearly bouncing around as Gilbert nodded. "Alright, though will there be a signal for when to go?"
no subject
Date: 2022-04-07 08:43 pm (UTC)"You gotta be more exciting than that..." "So what would you suggest?"
Botamon whistles sharply, grabbing the attention of the Goblimon. Nara'a suppresses the urge to facepalm, though it's very difficult as the group starts to make its way towards them.
no subject
Date: 2022-04-08 01:19 pm (UTC)"Let's get teach them to be nice!" Seemed to be the young ones battle cry as he started to hop on over with Gilbert wondering just what the little guy was to be planning. Soon that was shown when the little digimon got closer
"Fuwa Feather!" they yelled as they spun around using there tail to shock the one closest, surprising Gilbert.
"I didn't know he could do that..." He still had a lot to really learn about them.
no subject
Date: 2022-04-09 12:20 am (UTC)"At least they're not as helpless as you might initially think..." The Goblimon grow closer, not phased very much by the attacks, and Nara'a unsheathes a rapier and a gem that he gently floats in one hand, ready for a fight.
"I don't know if you have a weapon on you - I can hold them back if you don't." A weapon, some kind of magicks, anything that could be useful. Who knows? It's not like having one arm ever slowed down anyone he knows.

From:Rail Riders
Date: 2022-04-06 10:55 pm (UTC)There's something to be said for size alone, because he's been getting more than a few uneasy looks from those same pillaging digimon, who seem to want to keep tabs on where he is as avidly as he's watching them. The only time the ruckus dies down is when passing the utterly silent Tamer and his judgmental stare, but as soon as they're out of 'easy range' it starts back up instantly. Intimidation may well be the name of the game, unintentionally or thoroughly on purpose; digimon his size tend to be Adults or stronger, he might well be just as dangerous!!
... He isn't. But they don't know that.
He also doesn't quite grasp they're up to something they shouldn't be. So they're taking objects.. so what? Surely more could be easily made. But their behavior is intensely suspicious even to Erichthonios. Nara'a's far less so, and as the miqo'te glances around for other tamers, one dusky hand rises to beckon slightly. He's not yelling across the train, that's too much ruckus of his own causing!
Re: Rail Riders
Date: 2022-04-07 08:57 pm (UTC)"Do you think you can help me get them to knock it off? I can maybe take them, but I don't want to actually hurt them."
Magic doesn't really differentiate 'hurt' versus 'knock out' when it's something like Verthunder.
no subject
Date: 2022-04-07 09:31 pm (UTC)"I know I can, but ... what are they even doing? Are they supposed to be doing that?"
There are certain blatant disconnects between how anyone from the unsundered world are used to life, and how the entire rest of reality seems to exist. This is just one of them.
The Guilmon snores obliviously on.
no subject
Date: 2022-04-09 12:15 am (UTC)What a world to live in.
"They're trying to cause trouble. Take things that don't belong to them, or maybe fight things that are smaller than them. I don't know why they're doing it, just that they're making other people upset."
Hopefully that's enough of an explanation for someone from a world without much conflict.
no subject
Date: 2022-04-09 12:29 am (UTC)So these are choosing to be problems instead of simply acting as they are designed to. "In that case. It might not technically be any of my business but..."
Not being his problem doesn't seem like it's going to keep him where he is though. He stands suddenly, the same motion setting Guilmon on the ground, who snorts awake with an unhappy growl. It's no surprise he dwarfs everyone that's even remotely human-height like the rest of his kind, and his sudden movement is spotted by a couple of the goblimon, who shift uneasily and elbow their fellows.
Intimidation it seems is the name of the game. "I don't think we have to hurt them. Act like you have authority and power, and generally--"
He stalks for the collection of troublemaking digimon, expression set in a scowl, Guilmon right at his side with a mouthful of sharp teeth bared in gleeful anticipation.
no subject
Date: 2022-04-09 12:42 am (UTC)The Goblimon stare up at Erichthonios, some backing up slightly. Nara'a follows behind, fixing a scowl to his face.
Botamon tries to look fierce, but instead just looks silly as he narrows his eyes.
"We were just playin' around..." One of the Digimon manages to mutter, and the group back up again towards the exit to the next car.
"You were hurting p -" People? "- others."
