[1] New Girl in Town

[ Needless to say, when asked if she wants to save the world, there is very little hesitation from Hibiki in terms of what her answer is. Obviously, she says yes!

Still, even considering the crazy directions her life has gone in, this was a whole new kind of weird. Sunflowmon, Nanomon, and everything they said about Digimon, is a whole new kind of weird. At the very least, she still has her Symphogear pendant... but no way of contacting anyone back home at S.O.N.G.

Still, most of her worries end up being forgotten pretty quickly as she steps outside. ]

WHOA!! It's a city! A huge city!

[ Way different from any other city she's ever seen... plus, if you think about it, isn't she basically taking a trip somewhere else right now? Sure, she's been pretty much around the earth for the sake of missions, but she's never traveled anywhere just for the sake of traveling!

...actually, she's here to save the world, isn't she? Dang, guess that counts as a mission too, she thinks. Still, she doesn't have the chance to lament that thought, because... ]

Hey.

[ Apparently, this small red creature who she met shortly after arriving... and is apparently her partner

A fact that, apparently, he's not really pleased about, judging by the way he's pouting and crossing his arms. ]

Um, yes?

Are you really my partner?

Aren't you supposed to be the one who knows that—

Because you're so puny and small! I heard that humans are super big and strong, but look at you!

[ So, one, her partner seems to not really be listening for an answer... and two... her partner is super rude!? ]

Hey! Who are you calling puny!? I'm bigger than you, you know!

Yeah! But not by that much! I gotta have a strong partner, y'know!

I'm super strong! Who do you think you are!?

I'm Coronamon! I'm gonna be a cool and strong digimon, so I've gotta have a cool and strong partner too!

[ So... a loud argument right outside the Union HQ... looks like a good start to a partnership, right? ]

[2] Digimon Daycare

[ Despite their... rocky start, evidently it looks like Hibiki and Coronamon are managing to get along, what with Hibiki actually being way stronger than she looks. Plus, as rude as he is, Coronamon has a good head on his shoulders. Wanting to protect smaller Digimon... Hibiki can get behind someone like that.

Speaking of smaller Digimon, THEY'RE ADORABLE?? ]

Uwaaaah!! There are so many of them! And they're all so soft and squishy!!

Gah! Keep it down! You're too loud!!

[ Hibiki is not paying any attention to her partner as she scoops up all of the rambunctious baby Digimon, falling onto her back and laughing loudly as all of the babies start to pile on top of her. ]

Ugaaah!! There's too many of them! I'm going down! Ahaha!

[ Well, she's clearly having fun. ]

[3] Training Montage

[ One thing that she had told Coronamon, is that she's actually super good at fighting! Which is very true, but she's also not mentioned her Symphogear, or even used it yet. Still, she may as well keep in shape, right?

So, there she is, taking a nice run around Access Park. It's pretty nice, actually! Honestly, for a place called the Digital World, the nature sure is nice and refreshing... ]

Hah... hah... not bad, partner!

Ehe! I can keep going, you know!

E-Eh!?

[ It's not intentional, but Hibiki enjoying a nice long jog around the park is evidently also letting herh show Coronamon up, as the small Digimon is starting to look a little fatigued... whereas Hibiki is doing just fine. She's even planning to do a few more exercises before she's done! ]

Wildcard

[ Claims opened up and I immediately zoomed to claim Hibiki... no regrets. In any case, I'm told I can just go ahead and post, so if anybody wants this hi-tech singing magical girl, here's where to do it! [ Ken and Wormmon are also jogging in Access Park today! Or, to be more specific, Ken is jogging and Wormmon is along for the ride...

But when he sees the other Digimon running with their partner, Wormmon stares. That looks...so nice....doing things together.... ]

No. [ Wormmon shakes his head. ] They're fast, huh?

[ Ken laughs, self-consciously, but as this conversation happens, he's been drawing closer to the other partner pair. He's pulling even with Coronamon....passing the Digimon....approaching Hibiki....

A CHALLENGER APPEARS! AND HE ISN'T EVEN MEANING TO! ]

[ Coronamon isn't pleased about being passed, but he's too busy running to shout any immediate indignant remarks. Hibiki, meanwhile, notices her new running companion coming up alongside her. ]

Oh! Good morning!

[ A cheerful greeting! Sure, she has Coronamon, but jogging with others is always fun! ]

Good morning.

[ Ken is more "steady but pleasant" in demeanor. He tries to draw up alongside her, Wormmon staring up at her from his position stuffed down the front of Ken's hoodie. ]

Early jogging is nice, isn't it?

[ It's not like Hibiki is doing anything more than just light jogging, but she's evidently still able to tire her partner out. ]

Mm! It's a good way to wake yourself up!

[ Aside from things like Miku's cooking... but that's besides the point, right now. In any case, she finally notices Wormmon staring up at her from being stuffed in Ken's hoodie, and...

Well, she gushes. ]

Aah!! THAT'S ADORABLE!!

[ She needs to get Coronamon to let her do that! What? Not a chance in hell? Aw... ]

[ Wormmon points at himself with a claw, thereby making himself even cuter. ]

[ Oh my god. She stops everything, suddenly grabbing Ken by the shoulders to yank him to face her... so that way Wormmon is facing her. ]

Ahh!! Look at you! All snug in his hoodie... Coronamon! You should—

Hell no!!

[ She immediately switches back to Wormmon, her eyes sparkling. ]

My name is Hibiki Tachibana! What's your name! Oh gosh I bet Maria-san would love you! Or even Kirika-chan! Ah, I need to take a picture!!

[ She's going on a bit, her hands reaching up to pet Wormmon. ]

[ Ken and Wormmon blink, perfectly in tandem. Then, Ken recovers while Wormmon is still reeling from this sudden burst of praise. ]

--A-ah, I'm Ken Ichijouji. This is Wormmon.

....I'm Wormmon.

[ He's Wormmon. ]

A-Ah! Sorry about that!

[ She laughs, still genuinely apologizing, but still just as cheerful as ever. ]

Nice to meet you, Ken-san! Wormmon! So you two are partners, I bet? Since you've got them in your hoodie and all!

Mm! Me and Ken-chan have been together for...

[ Wormmon starts trying to count on his limbs. He is not sure he has enough limbs.

Ken takes pity. ] Ten years. My homeworld has its own Digital World.

[ Hibiki can feel her heart squeeze further. She's gotta tell Miku about this adorable buggy Digimon later! ]

Whoa! You too!? I'm jealous...

[ Officially the second person for Hibiki to meet who is coming from a world already with a Digital World and a longtime partnership. ]

Ah. ] We've faced many dangers. [ One of the biggest was Ken himself. ] But I've never regretted meeting Wormmon. You and Coronamon are sure to have a future of memories to make together.

[ Wormmon snuggles close. Yep. You thought the bug was cute BEFORE?

The bug calls his adult partner Ken-chan. ]

[ Wormmon straightens up for a second, but somehow he doesn't get an aura of....threat....from Hibiki. Some people, when they address Ken-chan - it makes him suspicious. He just gets a feeling. He doesn't know why. But this seems okay.

Ken is offering Coronamon a bottle of water, meanwhile. ] Have you been working hard together?

[ No threatening aura whatsoever... only overwhelming positivity and an unfortunate lack of brain cells. Woohoo!

Coronamon gratefully takes the bottle of water, immediately starting to down the majority of the thing before letting out a gasp of relief. ]

H-Heh! Just needed a quick drink, is all!

[ A quick drink, huh? ]

Mm! We have! Though he was super rude to me when we first met, actually...

[ Wormmon is surprised. Shocked, even! Dismayed!

He looks at Coronamon with a scandalized expression. ] You can't do that!

[ Wormmon is so PROUD of himself for getting it RIGHT. His big sunny smile cannot be dimmed by Coronamon's attitude!

Ehehe! So! You said that where you're from, there's already a Digital World, right? What's it like there!? Are they like, fully separate or do you see them in the real—ah, um... what do you call the Not-Digital World?

[ It doesn't feel right to call it the 'real' world, since both are just as real, right? That's what Hibiki thinks, at least.

In any case, though, she's going a little wild on the questions now. Can you blame her, though? She's curious! ]

[ Why'd she - Oh. Oh, that makes Ken smile. ]

It is hard to distinguish, isn't it. We frequently do say "real" world, but you're right that it's inaccurate.

What should we say, then, Ken-chan?

A mix. The number of people who've met their Digimon partners is increasing. I wouldn't be surprised if everyone had a partner someday....

Ah, we don't call them "Tamers", though. We'd used "Chosen Child," but adults have partners too.

[ This is an enlightening conversation. Ken puts a hand to his chin. ]

Ahaha... I guess if you meet a Digimon when you're a kid, it'd work! But it's hard trying to get everything down 100%...

[ Heck, despite attending a private music academy, she still struggles with all of the complicated terms and stuff that you end up hearing about in music... but she's managing! Mostly thanks to Miku, of course. ]

[ Everything is in flux, it's true. She's gracious, to be understanding when Ken's world has been so careless with its particulars. (Not that he imagines it matters in the long run, but he prefers precision.) ]
