[Open] A Sunny Arrival

Who: Hibiki, her partner, and you!
What: Basically a Catch-All with the new girl! Plus some time at the Digimon Daycare.

[1] New Girl in Town

[ Needless to say, when asked if she wants to save the world, there is very little hesitation from Hibiki in terms of what her answer is. Obviously, she says yes!

Still, even considering the crazy directions her life has gone in, this was a whole new kind of weird. Sunflowmon, Nanomon, and everything they said about Digimon, is a whole new kind of weird. At the very least, she still has her Symphogear pendant... but no way of contacting anyone back home at S.O.N.G.

Still, most of her worries end up being forgotten pretty quickly as she steps outside. ]

WHOA!! It's a city! A huge city!

[ Way different from any other city she's ever seen... plus, if you think about it, isn't she basically taking a trip somewhere else right now? Sure, she's been pretty much around the earth for the sake of missions, but she's never traveled anywhere just for the sake of traveling!

...actually, she's here to save the world, isn't she? Dang, guess that counts as a mission too, she thinks. Still, she doesn't have the chance to lament that thought, because... ]

Hey.

[ Apparently, this small red creature who she met shortly after arriving... and is apparently her partner

A fact that, apparently, he's not really pleased about, judging by the way he's pouting and crossing his arms. ]

Um, yes?

Are you really my partner?

Aren't you supposed to be the one who knows that—

Because you're so puny and small! I heard that humans are super big and strong, but look at you!

[ So, one, her partner seems to not really be listening for an answer... and two... her partner is super rude!? ]

Hey! Who are you calling puny!? I'm bigger than you, you know!

Yeah! But not by that much! I gotta have a strong partner, y'know!

I'm super strong! Who do you think you are!?

I'm Coronamon! I'm gonna be a cool and strong digimon, so I've gotta have a cool and strong partner too!

[ So... a loud argument right outside the Union HQ... looks like a good start to a partnership, right? ]

[2] Digimon Daycare

[ Despite their... rocky start, evidently it looks like Hibiki and Coronamon are managing to get along, what with Hibiki actually being way stronger than she looks. Plus, as rude as he is, Coronamon has a good head on his shoulders. Wanting to protect smaller Digimon... Hibiki can get behind someone like that.

Speaking of smaller Digimon, THEY'RE ADORABLE?? ]

Uwaaaah!! There are so many of them! And they're all so soft and squishy!!

Gah! Keep it down! You're too loud!!

[ Hibiki is not paying any attention to her partner as she scoops up all of the rambunctious baby Digimon, falling onto her back and laughing loudly as all of the babies start to pile on top of her. ]

Ugaaah!! There's too many of them! I'm going down! Ahaha!

[ Well, she's clearly having fun. ]

[3] Training Montage

[ One thing that she had told Coronamon, is that she's actually super good at fighting! Which is very true, but she's also not mentioned her Symphogear, or even used it yet. Still, she may as well keep in shape, right?

So, there she is, taking a nice run around Access Park. It's pretty nice, actually! Honestly, for a place called the Digital World, the nature sure is nice and refreshing... ]

Hah... hah... not bad, partner!

Ehe! I can keep going, you know!

E-Eh!?

[ It's not intentional, but Hibiki enjoying a nice long jog around the park is evidently also letting herh show Coronamon up, as the small Digimon is starting to look a little fatigued... whereas Hibiki is doing just fine. She's even planning to do a few more exercises before she's done! ]

[ Claims opened up and I immediately zoomed to claim Hibiki... no regrets. [ Coronamon is very warm to the touch, but fortunately, he's not dangerous to touch. Listen, he wants to prove how strong he is, but he's not about to burn his own partner! Even if she does seem a little puny ~~to him at least.~~

In any case, she has to take her hands off of Miku to yank Coronamon off of her face... who isn't happy about it, but fortunately decides to just pout about it in Hibiki's arms. ]

Miku...

[ So, Miku's been here for a month already, and they're the only ones here? ]

A-Ahh... this is really confusing...

[ Plus, she's sure that if anybody else had gotten a message like that, they'd hit yes too... and it definitely wouldn't take a month to do it! ]

Y-You're alright, right? I'm sorry... it took me a month to get here...

[Miku blinks, shaking her head after a few more moments. ]

It's okay. It's definitely not your fault that things are weird. I mean, you said you pressed it as soon as you got the message. [She pauses for a moment, thinking about things for a moment before she spoke again. ]

Anyway, I'm glad you're here. I mean, for more than the obvious reasons. We need all the help we can get.

[ She smiles, relieved. Miku really is the best, she thinks. ]

Of course! I'm still a little confused on most of the details, but the point is we're all here to save the world, right?

[ She pumps her fist, Coronamon frowning at her while Hibiki grins as usual. ]

I'm a little late, but I'll do my best!

Oh really? With a human like you, it'd be better if you just stood back and let me handle things!

Hey! I've done this kind of thing before, you know!

Hmph!

...I still think that with everyone that got brought here we're doomed.

[Yeah, Miku's just going to... ignore Solarmon. She's starting to learn that bothering to argue with him a lot won't actually amount to everything. ]

I'm sure we'll figure things out soon enough. [She pauses, then looks at Coronamon. ] ...And it seems like you got a partner that's, uh... really argumentative with you too.

[ Hibiki ends up frowning a bit at the way Solarmon is acting, but her smile returns to her face just as quickly. ]

Aw, don't say that! Everything's going to be just fine!

[ And with that familiar phrase, she laughs a little nervously at Miku's observation. ]

Aha... yep! But I'm sure we'll get along eventually! Chris-chan was kinda like this at first too, after all! Remember?

Hah!? Don't just decide that! Who the heck are you talking about, anyway!?

Ignore him, he's kinda a jerk.

Hey!

[Look Solarmon if you didn't want to be called a jerk you should stop being a jerk. Either way, Miku just giggles at Hibiki's comment.]

Yeah, I remember. And yeah, I'm sure the two of you will be fine. [ She's... less confident about her and Solarmon though. But she'll just deal with him as she needs to.]

[ Miku calling someone a jerk... he must have really been getting on Miku's nerves while she was here. Still! With someone like Miku, Hibiki can only remain optimistic that things will look up for her partnership. ~~Though we can only hope that Solarmon isn't mean to Miku around Hibiki or else there'll probably be another problem.~~

Though that being said, she does giggle at the interaction as well. ]

So! Where does everybody stay here? I didn't see much in the HQ building... ah! Or where are you staying? I can just move in with you!

[ Living anywhere? Without Miku? Perish the thought... it certainly never existed in Hibiki's mind, at least. ]

[It has been a very, very long month Hibiki. ]

They gave all of us our own apartments, so that's not something we need to really worry about. And-

[Before she can finish that sentence, Solarmon decides to butt in. ]

You two can't live with us!

Hey, you don't get to decide that on your own!

We don't have the room for both of them!

EHHH!? But...! No way!!

[ It's nice that everyone is getting their own apartments, but Hibiki is... well, clearly distraught. Both with Solarmon shooting her down and the apparent lack of room. She's been living together with Miku at Lydian for so long that imagining any other living situation just feels lonely...

While Hibiki is being distraught, however, Coronamon's head suddenly bursts with flames. ]

HEY!! What the heck do you think you're doing, bossing around my partner!?

Coronamon?

[ Weren't you just on about not liking her as your partner? What's with this sudden change of— ]

Oi! Don't just stand there looking upset! You wanna live with this human, right!?

Yeah... yeah! I do!

[ ...so Coronamon might be nicer than he lets on, though escalating the situation might not be the greatest idea. ]

[If Solarmon is worried at all about Coronamon's sudden burst of fire... well, he doesn't show it at all. In fact, he just stares for a moment before turning back to Miku. ]

It doesn't matter what you want! Like I said there's no room!

Solarmon, it'll be fine!

Where exactly are they going to sleep?!

Hibiki will be sleeping with me. And we'll figure something out for Coronamon!

Yeah, that's right! Me and Miku always sleep together! Every night! Plus, since you guys are pretty small, can't we just get little beds for the both of you?

[ Putting aside Hibiki's ever-present tendency to shine too brightly, Coronamon is only further angered by Solarmon's attitude. Did he just ignore him? To his face!? ]

Oi! Don't you dare ignore me!

[Solarmon... blinked at both Miku and Hibiki's statements for a moment, but before he could say anything, well. There was a very angry Coronamon yelling at him. ]

My insides are already on fire, you don't really scare me that much. [Miku's pretty sure that's not literally true but Solarmon's turning his attention back to Hibiki now. ]

I already have a bed! That part's not the point!

Solarmon, please stop yelling out here in the middle of the city!

[ Ah, Hibiki is finally starting to notice that it’s getting… pretty heated right now. Both literally and figuratively. This has gotta stop and get resolved soon, or else things will end up even more complicated… and she doesn’t want to end up in a separate room from Miku just because their partners are at each other’s throats.

Actually, the thought suddenly sends a wave of nervousness through her. It suddenly calms her own loud and impulsive head like water poured on a fire. ]

A-Ahh…!

[ She looks down at Coronamon… he looks like he’s about to explode, and so she acts on her first immediate thought, seeing as she doesn’t have a chance in coming up with a plan or anything. Before Coronamon can suddenly start shouting even louder… ]

OHHH-KAY!! Yep! Let’s stop yelling!

H-HEY!! I—hn…!?

[ She suddenly scoops up her partner, which in-turn redirects his indignation toward Hibiki herself… though weirdly not as loudly as he just looked like he was going to be.

In any case, Hibiki‘s attention turns to Solarmon now. ]

C’mon, please? Solarmon? It’s really important… and I promise we’ll figure something out!

[ Outwardly, nothing’s changed. Her plead is genuine, but still cheerful and lighthearted. But Coronamon is suddenly weirdly silent—albeit still grumpy—and Hibiki is squeezing him just a little tightly. Maybe she finally comprehended the situation, realization hitting her in the form of unease and prompting her to silently try and get her partner to please be quiet, just for little a bit…

Or maybe he was just impressed that, despite his earlier criticisms, her grip is tighter than it looks… and she’s actually got some muscle on her arms. Maybe she isn’t actually a wimp like he thought. Either way, there’s no retort from Coronamon… though he doesn’t look happy about it. ]

[Solarmon looks like he's about to argue even still, but... well, Miku did have a point. They were making a scene.

Not that he thought at all that it was a good idea. So instead he just sighs.]

This is a dumb idea and it isn't going to work. But we'll wait until you actually see the apartment before finishing this.

[Miku somehow didn't groan at her partner's words, but at least he wasn't yelling for right now. Which was probably the best she could've asked for.]

...Right. Yeah. Let's get going. [ She turns her attention back to Hibiki, taking a look at her and how she's holding Coronamon in her arms. ]

I'm surprised he's not burning you, Hibiki. If I tried that on Solarmon I'd be in serious trouble.

Yay! Thanks, Solarmon! And don't you worry about it, everything will be fine!

[ Probably the most positive way anybody could have taken his tone, but Hibiki is already 100% sure that it'll be fine, so this was basically him saying yes, right? Right??

In any case, Miku brings up a good point... ]

Eh? Is he really that hot?

[ Huh... she supposes that it does feel like Solarmon is radiating some heat. There must be all kinds of Digimon, huh? ]

Well, he is pretty warm... but it's fine so long as I don't touch his head or tail!

Hmph! I'm not some chump who burns anybody who touches me!

[ Actually, come to think of it, Coronamon is holding his tail out and away from Hibiki even as she's holding him. Pretty thoughtful, considering that they were just arguing earlier. ]

Hey! That's not my fault!

He is pretty hot to the touch, yeah.

[Miku's not entirely sure how Solarmon's body works, but the important thing is that Hibiki won't get it in her mind to carry him if something happens. And considering the whole world saving thing that they were here for, something was definitely going to happen eventually.]

Anyway, let's get going. Especially if you two fighting is going to be a thing...

[ Only time will tell if knowing that Solarmon is hot to the touch will be enough to keep Hibiki from carelessly getting herself burnt. It should keep her safe for a little while, though... until it eventually slips her mind. ]

Well, I'll be careful, then!

[ In the meantime, though, she jogs up to Miku's side and releases one arm's hold on Coronamon in order to reach for Miku's hand. It's an opportunity that Coronamon uses to wiggle out of Hibiki's grip and start walking just behind them, but Hibiki doesn't mind. ]

[ Yeah, Miku's under no illusion that Hibiki will actually remember the warning, but she still needed to give it.

She takes Hibiki's hand when it's offered, giving it a quick squeeze as they walk. She's hoping that things work out with the apartment because, well, being away from Hibiki even if it's just separate apartments would really suck. ]

[ Hibiki will figure something out! She came up with the ingenious idea of using their bottom bunk as storage, after all! The feeling is mutual, after all... they could be right next-door to each other and it would still kind of suck.

She squeezes back, honestly just happy to have her here. She dispelled most if not all of the worries Hibiki had been dealing with ever since she got here just by showing up.

Coronamon, meanwhile, just raises an eyebrow at the two. ]

Humans are weird...

[ Muttered under his breath. ]
