The world of my home has, historically, been ravaged
by apocalyptic events every few hundred years or so, the most recent was
less than a decade ago, and with the world still recovering, the group was
formed as an effort to forestall any further calamities. I suppose the name
is a sort of poetic mission statement, a declaration that the last
Calamity, the seventh, would be the last.
I'm glad to say we've since officially disbanded, since the root cause of
the calamities has been addressed- but this does not undo the damage caused
by the people who brought them about.
There's likely some sort of dark comedy in the notion that within weeks of
my thinking the world was, finally, properly saved, that I would find yet
another apocalypse threatening Etheirys again- and to hear tell, many other
worlds besides!
