Aw, Gazimon. It's okay, Kotemon's just very affectionate despite now carrying a weapon. "Ah..." He thumbs the scar over his nose and chuckles a bit. "It was... difficult at times. It's not that they didn't care about me, but it was always expected I would go off on my own - especially when it became clear just how hopeless I am at hunting. The Wellwick Wood is no place for non-hunters, they'd tell me. We sold to other people in Thanalan and the Shroud - my clan was a bit unusual in that we stuck closer to Thanalan than Gridania. Most Moon Keepers tend to disappear into the thicker underbrush."
Hm. "I never really questioned why we stuck to scrublands - I think it was just 'less competition'. So I grew up more used to the heat, and we had a bit of a reputation for 'not being poachers'. It's... an unfortunate stereotype with Moon Keepers that they tend to ignore local laws about what they can or can't hunt, but we had less of a problem with that since the laws were different in Thanalan." He shrugs at that - it's not like he's always the best at keeping to laws anyway. "I write to my mother and sisters sometimes... I don't get much of a response, but I want them to know I'm all right. I know they probably tease me for being sentimental."
