Chris had to say, she wasn't happy with what circumstances she found herself in. Of course she'd said yes to the question that appeared before her—how could she not?! But she hadn't expected to be taken to another world, least of all one with monsters that had a vague at best plan to accomplish their goals.

Still, she couldn't ignore the threat to her home, or the creatures in need in this world. She had to do something.

Right now though? All she could do was sit on a bench in the park, leaning her head on her hands and generally looking sad. Her partner hadn't shown up yet, and she had no idea where to go to end up looking for one. So all she could do is wait..

"The home I fought for..." she said, sadly. "Is it really so far away?"

The Great And Powerful So-And-So

By now, Chris had met her partner, and... well, they were partners. She couldn't say whether they would get along or not, but this Missimon seemed pretty cynical and hard to convince. Nevertheless, Chris knew they had to get to work accomplishing something, so she'd pursued one of those jobs that were on offer.

The one she selected meant walking the streets at night. Apparently something called a "Devimon" was attacking and scaring people. She checked the handbook on her phone, err, "digivice", and gotten some eyewitness testimony, and something immediately felt fishy. Her time in S.O.N.G. had taught her a thing or too, so she was able to get a sense of where the attacks usually occurred, so she started looking there... and it paid off!

"Hold it right there!" Chris announced to a shadowy figure in an alleyway. "Come on out, you pretender!"

Said shadowy figure loomed over her, rickety wings spread against the knight sky and red eyes gleaming like flashlights. It cried out, its voice legion, and demanded: "Who dares disturb Devimon the great and powerful?!"

Missimon shook her head from behind Chris. "This is going to end in disaster," she sighed.

Oh. Wormmon gives this a ponder. He is pretty sure anyone can tell by looking how wonderful Ken-chan is, but the best parts of Ken-chan are indeed the things inside - his consideration, his big kind heart. So he supposes....this makes sense.

"Wait here," he tells her, and inches over to his partner. "Ken-chaaaaan~"

"Well, Adult or not, we have to take him and his buddies in to Chief Tyrannomon," said Chris. "We can't just call it in and wait for them to-"

Then, as if on cue, heavy stomping and a rumble came from further down the street.

Sheriff Tyrannomon appeared, followed by a small army of Gaossmon...with sirens on their heads.

"We got reports of a brawl breaking out down here," the Dinosaur Digimon announced. "What exactly happened here?"

Chris blinked, and rocked back on her heels, waiting to see what would happen.

"There were a couple of DemiDevimon in a trenchcoat and they were trying to pretend to be something big and mean and attack, so then we defended ourselves, and then one of them evolved, and he beat up my Tamer real bad so I had to set him on fire!" Pucchiemon says with a dramatic point at Evilmon. "Only to protect my Tamer, you see. Look how beat up he is! Just look at him!"

Hajime's initial impulse upon being presented with the police is to leave the area very quickly without saying anything, but Pucchiemon is holding his arm and preventing him from doing so. The fact that he's had the crap kicked out of him is also preventing him from doing so. He's just standing there stone-faced with his greenish scrapes and bruises, ready for the ground to open up and swallow him. "What he said."

Solarmon tried to dodge the bats, but he had a little bit of a problem with that. Namely that he was right in front of the digimon, and didn't have time to actually dodge it. So into the ground he went, and he slammed down hard with a bit of a startled shout.

At least he was made of metal so it didn't hurt that badly, but even so getting hit by something like that still sucked.

With all of this happening, it was pretty obvious that yeah, they were going to have to do something to stop this. And so...

"Rei Shénshòujìng rei zizzl..."

Light flashed around her body as she sang those words, and-

-then Miku was standing there, clad in her white and lilac Faust Robe for the first time since that whole mess with Shem-ha happened.

Solarmon had just managed to turn his attention towards Miku's direction when the light faded, and stared at what he was seeing for a moment. "What the... since when could humans evolve!?"

Miku didn't say anything to correct him; there would be time to do that later and they had more important stuff to worry about right now. So she focused, moving her arms so that the two 'whip' appendages attacked her her sleeves could move and focused, purple light shooting out of them towards the PicoDevimon that had blasted Solarmon earlier.

This was the first new person he had seen since he honestly arrived. SO he also really had no idea what he wanted to say or do honestly. But his digimon however was a lot more talkative.

"I will say welcome then~ I hope you are able to help us and also make all the new friends."

It doesn't take long before Wormmon returns, this time atop the head of the young man. The Digimon points at Chris.

"Right there!"

"I see." Ken's smile is easy and gentle. "You're a new Tamer? Welcome."

Chris...had not been expecting that. Her eyes widened, and fear shot through her mind—the last time she'd seen Miku transform, had frankly, given her good reason to. So much, she was completely unsure of how best to act in that situation.

The PicoDevimon was surprised too, so much Miku's blast knocked them out of the air. They hit the ground head-first, and was knocked out cold.

That left two, who flew there, unable to figure out how to proceed.

"H-How can humans do that?!" the one Chris heaved the syringe at cried.

"I-I don't care!" cried the other. "L-Let's just get out of here!"

And then they turned, attempting to fly away as fast as they could.

...Wow. Okay. That was a little anti-climatic. The PicoDevimon running away was definitely welcome, but that was definitely a little anti-climatic.

Then again, she did knock one of them out, so maybe she shouldn't have been so surprised that the other two were running.

"Have you been able to do that the entire time!?" Solarmon shouted once the PicoDevimon were gone, looking over at his partner. Where was that when we were dealing with those Numemon?"

Miku sighed. "You had that whole thing handled. If anything I would've had to transform like this to stop you, not them." And now that she said that, she turned her attention over to Chris, and then blinked at the look on her face. "Uh... Chris-chan? You okay?"

"Uh...thanks," Chris responded, not really sure of what to make of the pair. "I'm not exactly sure of how I'm gonna be much help though...I haven't even met my partner, yet."

"Hi," Chris said, feeling a bit awkward. "Um. My name's Chris, and I'm guessing you're 'Ken-chan', then?"

Chris grit her teeth, and clenched a hand into a fist. Missimon saw this, and shied even further back. Was her partner angry, or else?

"How..." Chris began. She then looked up, anger and concern on her face. "How exactly are you able to transform like that?! Who did this to you, Miku?!"

Miku just... blinked at Chris's comment. And the way that she was acting. It made absolutely no sense. "Chris-chan? Why are you acting like you don-"

She doesn't even finish that sentence, because something jumped into her mind again. How she and Hibiki had gotten the message from the Digital World at the same time, and yet Hibiki took over a month after her to get here. There was a flash of light, and then Miku was back to normal, her large, gray very much NOT a Symphogear pendant around her neck in full view.

"...Right, the Digital World's weird with time stuff. What's the last major thing that happened back home for you?"

"The last major thing?" Chris asked. "What...what do you mean? It was the fight with Adam and the Illuminati!"

She eyed the pendant around her neck...it was definitely different. But the things it made Chris think of certainly didn't convince Chris that the alternative was any better.

Chris nodded at both of them, as Missimon flew up to her side. "That's basically what happened," she said. "I can corroborate everything. Though maybe not in those words exactly..."

Tyrannomon raised an eyebrow at Pucchiemon's story. He looked from the Digimon to Hajime, and took in the sight of him and how injured he was. Then, he looked at Chris, to the defeated Digimon, and then finally the discarded remains of the Devimon costume. In those moments, he managed to put two-and-two together.

"So this is the so-called 'Devimon' that was causing trouble for people," he said. "You handled it, then? Good work."

i don't know why this is so funny to me but i am determined to do it every time bugge meets somebody

Ken nods. "Ichijouji Ken. You've met Wormmon."

"I'm Wormmon."

He's Wormmon.

"Yeah!" Pucchiemon says brightly. "It was very handled! Super handled." Clearly they are the best at handling things. He is punctuating this with some air punching. "We all worked together!"

"Are we free to go?" Hajime asks. He didn't know if Pucchiemon could still do Cutemon's healing thing, had no idea Pucchiemon would actually revert to Cutemon after a little bit, and was really not feeling like hanging around and dealing with a red dinosaur questioning him.

"That's not the last major thing I remember. It's pretty close, but there was something else after that. Pretty soon after that." Which, well, wasn't something she thought she was going to have to explain and honestly didn't really want to.

"Your... that reaction isn't... I..." She shakes her head again. "You weren't wrong. About why I have this now."

Solarmon looked over at Miku for a moment, not entirely sure what was going on but he realized that Miku was upset. "Maybe you two should talk about this somewhere else?"

"No can do, I'm afraid," Sheriff Tyrannomon said. "You're going to have to come down to the station and give a statement. It's standard protocol."

Chris let out a heavy sigh. "It can't be helped, then," she said. "We might as well listen to him...that is, unless you think you'd be better off getting healed at HQ."

She just gave you an out, Hajime. Use it.

"Yeah," Chris replied. "I got that. And your partner sure is dedicated to being friendly, heh."

Chris was about to reply, when Solarmon said what he did. She gave a little growl of frustration, before nodding.

"Come on," she said. "We can finish this discussion at my place."
